MyDefence deepens US footprint with Oklahoma facility opening

MyDefence has opened a counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) manufacturing and innovation facility in Oklahoma City.

According to a company press release, the facility was inaugurated on 26 February, marking a further step in the Danish firm’s North American production expansion.

- Establishing this facility in Oklahoma City reflects our continued commitment to strengthening America’s defence industrial base and supporting the US Army. Domestic production ensures our military, National Guard and homeland security partners have reliable, fully integrated, mission-ready counter-drone capabilities when and where they are needed, said William (Bill) Ostrowski, president and chief executive of MyDefence North America.

The expansion is expected to support high-skilled roles across engineering, manufacturing, systems integration and operations.

MyDefence said it intends to collaborate with regional partners on workforce development initiatives, contributing to Oklahoma’s expanding aerospace and defence talent pipeline.

Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt, who attended the facility’s dedication, said the company’s arrival follows a record year for inward investment in the state, which in 2025 reached 14.6 billion US dollars.

Established in 2009 in Nørresundby, Denmark, MyDefence develops and produces soldier-borne C-UAS systems.

The company has reported strong growth, with turnover and profits doubling between 2023 and 2024. Net sales reached DKK 206 million, equivalent to approximately 28 million euro.
